About these terms
These terms describe use of the DoctorsBeyond Inc. website, patient and provider portals, communications tools and related services. Clinical care is delivered by the licensed healthcare professional identified for your visit. DoctorsBeyond supports access, scheduling, records and related administration; a clinician is responsible for clinical decisions within their credentials and scope of practice. A public page, completed intake or payment alone does not establish a diagnosis or guarantee a prescription.
These terms work together with our Privacy Policy, Membership Terms, and Telehealth Consent. Separate, clearly presented authorizations apply to recurring billing and any treatment-specific consent. Acknowledging a privacy notice does not authorize every possible use of your health information.
Your account and location
Account holders must be at least 18. Use accurate information and a private password, and tell Support about suspected unauthorized access. A parent, legal guardian or other authorized representative may arrange care for an eligible dependent. Select the actual patient for each visit; family membership does not give every person unrestricted access to another person’s medical record.
The current medical program serves patients physically in Georgia or Alabama when care is provided, subject to clinician licensure, service eligibility and availability. Entering an international address or creating an account does not establish eligibility for care outside those locations. Tell your clinician your current physical location and a reliable callback number at every visit. Do not use another person’s identity or location.
Clinical care and emergencies
Telehealth may use video, audio or secure messaging where appropriate and legally permitted. Your clinician decides whether the available information and examination are adequate, and may request records, testing, an in-person examination or a referral. NP and PA care is subject to applicable collaboration, delegation and supervision requirements. A supervising or collaborating clinician’s involvement does not replace the treating professional’s clinical responsibilities.
Do not use this service for an emergency. Call 911 or your local emergency number. For a mental-health crisis in the United States, call or text 988; use 911 for immediate danger. Portal messages and support requests are not continuously monitored emergency channels. Advertised response or wait times are estimates, not guarantees.
Prescriptions
Prescriptions require an appropriate clinical evaluation and compliance with applicable law. Paying a fee does not guarantee a particular medication, dose, refill, work/school note or outcome. The current program does not offer controlled-substance prescribing. Use medication only for the person to whom it is prescribed and follow the clinician’s and dispensing pharmacist’s instructions.
Fees, insurance and booking
Current self-pay visit rates, eligible member rates, membership fees and any insurance visit fee are shown on the Pricing page and in your individual quote before you authorize payment. An insurance visit fee applies only where permitted by the plan and law and is separate from insurer-determined copays, deductibles or coinsurance. Coverage checks do not guarantee payment by a health plan. Government-program and plan restrictions take precedence over a general website price.
Review the exact patient, provider, coverage and amount displayed before payment. An appointment time is reserved only after required payment or a confirmed no-payment-due status and the final booking confirmation. Entering a visit room early does not start a clinical visit or reserve an unconfirmed time. Third-party testing, prescriptions, supplies and referrals are not included unless expressly stated. Existing accepted orders retain their agreed price unless a lawful prospective change is communicated and accepted where required.
If you are uninsured or not using insurance, you may request a good faith estimate of expected charges. Federal rules generally require one when care is scheduled at least three business days ahead or upon request. A bill that exceeds the estimate by the applicable federal threshold may qualify for a dispute process. See CMS patient billing rights and contact Support for assistance.
Cancellation and billing questions
Appointment cancellation and rescheduling conditions shown before booking apply to that appointment, subject to applicable law. Under the current booking policy, visits scheduled for now or less than two hours ahead are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled; eligible later visits may be rescheduled at least two hours in advance. Contact Support promptly if a clinician does not attend, the service cannot be delivered, a duplicate charge appears or a technical problem prevents care. These terms do not take away a refund, dispute or other remedy required by law.
Membership cancellation is separate from canceling an appointment, deleting the app or pausing clinical care. Follow the membership cancellation instructions to stop recurring charges. Do not send card numbers through portal messages or email.
Your records and communications
Provide an accurate history, medications, allergies and relevant documents, and tell your clinician about changes. A signed clinical note is preserved; corrections are recorded through a dated addendum rather than overwriting the signed record. Patient-facing notes, addenda and work/school documents can be accessed through Visit records or requested from Support, subject to applicable access and confidentiality rules. Editing a work/school document does not alter the signed clinical note.
Closing an account or ending a membership does not erase records that a clinician or the service must retain by law, for care continuity or for an unresolved legal obligation. Retention depends on the record, patient age and applicable requirements. Marketing messages are optional and separate from necessary account and care communications.
Appropriate use and site materials
Use the service for lawful personal care or authorized professional work. Do not impersonate another person, submit malicious files, interfere with security, access another patient’s record without authority, or use the platform to harass anyone. We may restrict misuse or a compromised account while preserving legal medical-record access and appropriate care-transition obligations.
DoctorsBeyond and its licensors retain rights to site software, logos and educational materials. You may view and keep copies for personal use, including these legal documents and your own records. These rights do not restrict lawful use or sharing of your own health information. Public educational content, photographs and calculators are informational; results are not a diagnosis. External sites and pharmacies have their own terms.
Service limits, changes and legal rights
Internet services can be interrupted and online examinations have limitations. These terms do not waive a clinician’s standard of care, excuse unlawful conduct, or remove rights that cannot lawfully be waived, including medical-record, privacy, consumer-protection and billing-dispute rights.
We will date revisions and provide additional notice or obtain agreement when required. A later website edit does not silently change a payment you already authorized. Mandatory law applicable to your circumstances controls; questions about a particular dispute or enforceability require review of those circumstances. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining lawful provisions can continue to apply.
