Online Rash Evaluation in Georgia & Alabama

A new itchy patch, irritation or rash can be difficult to describe. A video visit gives you a way to discuss what changed and whether the skin needs an in-person examination.

For patients in Georgia and Alabama. Your clinician determines whether online care is appropriate.

Show the change clearly

Before the visit, note where the rash started, how it has spread and whether it itches or hurts. Mention new medicines, skin products or exposures. Use good lighting for the video visit. If the care team requests photographs, share them through the secure patient portal.

Some rashes need prompt in-person care

The American Academy of Dermatology recommends medical attention for a widespread, painful or rapidly spreading rash; blisters or open sores; a rash with fever or illness; or involvement of the eyes, mouth or genital skin. Trouble breathing or swallowing, or swelling of the lips or eyes, may require immediate emergency care. Read the AAD warning signs.

Know the limits of video

A camera cannot replace every skin examination or test. Your clinician may need a closer physical assessment or recommend another clinician. This is an urgent-care evaluation, not a promise of a dermatology specialist appointment or a particular prescription.

Choose your next step

For a non-emergency concern, choose the skin category in urgent care. Confirm whether the visit is for you or a dependent and where the patient will be during the visit. Online care is available through DoctorsBeyond in Georgia and Alabama, subject to clinical suitability and provider availability.
